Welcome to the Guest Cottages at The Mill at Fine Creek. These charming bed and breakfast-like living spaces are available to guests of weddings, special events, and other occasions hosted onsite, as well as to those not associated with an event here at The Mill at Fine Creek. They have been constructed and designed by craftsman and artisans with your comfort and enjoyment in mind.

There are 13 cottages onsite:
7 one-bedroom cottages
5 two-bedroom cottages
1 three-bedroom cottage
Among the cottages, you’ll find walking paths and green space. Each cottage has a private sitting room in addition to the bedroom(s), central heat/air with its own climate control, a TV in the sitting room with cable, free WiFi, a small refrigerator/freezer, and glassware. We use 100% cotton 600-thread count sheets on our beds. The cottage bathrooms include a hair dryer, a make-up mirror, luxurious toiletries by Gilchrist & Soames, and 100% Turkish cotton bath towels. We also offer our guests complimentary breakfast – freshly baked light morning fare – and other items and services that will be available through our historic general store.

How do I make a reservation?
Reservations may be made through our website.
You will need a major credit/debit card to make a reservation.
Are the cottages exclusively for the use of wedding guests of The Mill at Fine Creek?
No, the cottages are available to all on a first-come, first-serve basis regardless of whether you are associated with a wedding or a private event at The Mill.
Are all of the cottages the same?
No, each cottage is unique. Please refer to our cottage descriptions within our booking site for details.
Are cottages available every day of the year including holidays?
The cottages are not available on certain days and holidays. Please call us if you are interested in booking our cottages on these days to determine if we can meet your needs.
Can I block cottages for my wedding?
We do not allow blocking cottages without paying the 50% nonrefundable deposit for your reservation.
Do you have concierge services that can help with securing reservations for my wedding guests?
Yes. Complimentary concierge services are available to all our guests. We have members of our staff who can recommend certain cottages to your guests, take reservations over the phone, and assist with special requests or needs. What is the deposit required to book? Is the deposit refundable?
We require a nonrefundable 50% deposit at the time of booking to reserve your room.
Can I change the method of payment of my deposit after it is processed?
At the time a cottage reservation is made, a 50% nonrefundable deposit is processed. At check-in, the remaining balance will be processed. A different credit/debit card may be used for the remaining cottage balance; however, the form of payment for the initial cottage deposit payment may not be changed without incurring a 5% administrative fee.
Is there a noise ordinance or quiet hours?
Yes, quiet hours are between 10 pm and 7 am.
Is there a minimum number of night stay required?
How many guests can stay in each cottage?
The maximum occupancy for each cottage and the daily charge for additional guests are listed in the description of each cottage within the booking site.
What time is check-in and check-out? Is there an early check-in or late check-out option?
Check-in is from 2 pm to 5 pm. If you need to check-in after 5 pm, please contact our Innkeeper (804-379-8211, Extension 2) so that arrangements may be made for key pickup and payment.
Check-out is by 10 am. If you need to either check-in early or check-out late, please ask us. We may be able to accommodate your request provided there is cottage availability.
Is there a charge for parking?
There is no additional charge for parking for our guests. Parking spaces are located on our property but may not be directly next to your cottage.
Is there any on-site dining or room service available?
Is there breakfast included for overnight guests?
Complimentary breakfast (coffee, pastries, yogurt, granola, juice, and fruit) is available from 7:00 am to 9:30 am in the general store for our overnight guests.
Are there a certain number of rooms guaranteed if I book a wedding at The Mill?
We cannot guarantee the availability of cottages even if you have a wedding booked at The Mill. If cottage availability is important to you, please check on this before booking a wedding at The Mill. We also encourage you, once your wedding is booked, to persuade your guests to book their cottages as soon as possible.
Are any cottages designed for guests with disabilities?
We have two cottages that are specially designed for guests with disabilities — one of the one-bedroom cottages and one of the bedrooms in a two-bedroom cottage. Please refer to the descriptions of each cottage within the booking site for details.
What is your policy on service animals?
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, service animals are permitted.
Are pets allowed in the cottages?

Are there restaurants close by?

Does each cottage have internet, TV, and a landline phone?
Each cottage has free wireless internet as well as a TV in the living room. There are no landline phones.
With what amenities are cottages equipped?
Each cottage has central heat/air, a TV in the living room with cable, wireless internet, an iron/ironing board, a small refrigerator/freezer, glassware, standard toiletries, hairdryer, and bed/bath linens.
There are no cottages available on the date I want. Is there a waiting list?
We have started taking names for a waiting list for the cottages and will contact you if a cottage becomes available. Please continue checking our website for availability.
Are the cottages and grounds nonsmoking?
Yes, the cottages and grounds are nonsmoking.
How old must I be to reserve a room?
The minimum age to reserve a cottage is 21 years old.
